Friends and Families of Psychiatric Survivors of Wisconsin

We don't have anything planned right now, and have suspended meetings for the time being. If you're interested in protesting the NAMI event, send us an email.

Peaceful Protest Against NAMI's "Run/Walk for Research" into the "causes" of "mental illness". NAMI has these twice a year. Usually in April and then October.

We're hoping to get some volunteers together to help show that there is an alternative viewpoint.

In fall of 2000, we protested this event alone. It was pretty scary.

The more folks we can get together, the better.

This is clipart. We need to get our logo and some of our original art on this site. If you have artistic and/or HTML knowledge or skills that you'd like to donate, we sure could use them.

Have you ever noticed that any time the topic is "mental illness," (whatever the heck that is), we only hear from professionals who have a vested interest.

We don't want to talk about "mental illness". It sounds boring anyway.

We want to talk about people whose lives have been affected by psychiatric assault, psychiatric labels and psychiatric diagnoses.

How about a Mad Pride demonstration in Mad City? Let us know what you think. Mindfreedom has some good ideas for fun things to do, like a "normalcy-free zone". tee, hee

Maybe right on the square.  We have to get the permit a couple of weeks in advance, but that's about all that's required.

Many psychiatric survivor groups have Mad Pride on Bastille Day. That's in July.

There is an email link on the "Contact Us" page.
